VOICES
[ for biodiversity ]
An interactive art work that broadcasts voices from the natural world in the face of the calamitous extinction of species caused by human action.
The installation is composed of a set of “cocoons” each filled with an electronic assemblage with a motion sensor, a microcontroller, a memory card, an RGB LED ring and a speaker.
When a “cocoon” detects movement, it randomly reproduces a sound of an animal stored in a mp3 library and lights up the LED.
The more people entering the room the more the environment will resemble a jungle disturbed by human presence.
“Voices” is an event integrated in the International Year of Sound
